Wheel thrown, raku fired ornament. Each ornament is unique! Size range from 4-7cm in length. Ornaments available in white (with either gold or purple\blue shimmer), Red or Green. Ribbon colors vary and can be changed upon request (red, green, silver, or khaki).
Handmade Horse Hair Raku Ornaments
Each ornament is hand-thrown on a potter's wheel and decorated using the horse hair raku firing technique. Horsehair is applied to the red-hot pottery as it's removed from the kiln, creating distinctive organic patterns and carbon tracings on the surface.
The rapid cooling process in combustible materials produces characteristic crackling and unique surface patterns that define raku pottery.
